DURATION ⏰ : MAR. 2022 ‑ SEP. 2022
TOOLS 🛠 : FIGMA, ILLUSTRATOR, AND CANVA
TEAM 🎨 : SACHACKS DESIGN
Context
SacHacks is the first major intercollegiate hackathon in the Sacramento, California area, where over 500 creative coders launch their ideas into action during a 36-hour hackathon.
Problem Statement
SacHacks did not have a website or social media presence to promote the event.
Solution
We created a brand guide, designed the website, created social media posts, and merch 2 months before the event.
My Role
I designed the website and assisted with the social media posts and merch.
Group Brainstorming
Lo-fi Prototype
We placed sticky notes on a blank version of their old website to figure out how to fit the elements we want while keeping the same layout.
Iterations
Mid-fi Prototype
Hi-fi Prototype - Desktop Version
Mobile View
Impact
We gained 600+ participants for the hackathon through the website.
Reflection
This project provided valuable experience in promoting a large-scale event through website development and social media. I improved my ability to prioritize tasks and collaborate effectively across a 16-hour time difference. Moving forward, I am eager to participate in similar projects that align with my passion for creating websites that bring people together.
